New Year, New Myths

Join Mixing Innovative Arts for our first event of 2013!

We’re celebrating local publishing with Watermark, local publisher of Don’t Look Back, which collects the work of Christine Thomas and 16 other Hawaii writers, under the theme of “re-imagining” Hawaiian myths. Stories cover a wide range: Pele in therapy; Maui as superhero; the cannibal king O‘ahu Nui in a world of shady deals and political corruption; the star-crossed naupaka lovers as Honolulu high-school sweethearts. Some present a different point of view than the original myth, others transport the story to a different time or setting.

The full list of contributors can be found on our website:http://bookshawaii.net/new-titles/dont-look-back.html

Readers will include:

Timothy Dyke, J. Freen, and Christine Thomas
